Speed is not only the ability to physically move fast, but also the ability to recognize the need to begin moving. The visual ignition program enhances an athlete’s speed by teaching the athlete to quickly recognize and react to visual triggers such as flashes of color. By learning to recognize a color, decode what that color means, and then to quickly execute a physical response in reaction to that color, an athlete will perform more smoothly and confidently in the course of athletic competition.
Possessing a strong core (stomach and lower back) is important because it ties together the upper and lower body during intense athletic movements like sprinting and jumping. The stronger an athlete is from the middle out, the more effective that athlete will be in any athletic competition.
Training with a Jelly Ball is one of the most fun and effective ways to quickly impact core strength. This video illustrates 40 of the most popular Jelly Ball drills used by our staff.
